Repeated dusk activity

Bats repeatedly emerging from or returning to the same part of a structure around dusk can be an important clue.

Sounds above living areas

What the Activity Means

Seeing bats outside does not automatically mean they are living in your house.

General outdoor activity

Bats in the air over a yard, along a treeline or around outdoor lighting are moving through the area. On its own, that observation says little about the building.

Activity tied to the structure
